The summers seem to be getting shorter and shorter as I get older and older.
This year school is starting a little later than in years past due to legislation passed awhile back forcing Texas school districts to start at the same time. I suppose the thinking is that starting a week or so later will bring in more bucks as the tourist attractions around the state.
Barbara actually started back ten days ago. John was happy to go back to school on Monday. He has a new teacher and we are excited to see how things will go. Next year will be John's last year of public school, so the emphasis is now on acquiring skills for employment.
Russell started two days of orientation on Monday, and will start classes on Wednesday (Aug 30th). From what I gather, there are 400 students in his first year class. The class is divided into four groups of 100, and each of those groups are divided into four sections. So it sounds like he will be in large classes with his group and the small classes with his section.
Rachel started her third and last year in law school on Monday also. I was worried that at family gatherings John and I would not understand what was being said, but so far they have been kind.

More wedding pictures
At Russell and Sarah Jane's wedding reception we passed out a bunch of disposable cameras so wedding guests could take pictures of each other and the happy couple.
I have uploaded what I consider the best of the lot. Click on the link above or watch the slide show below.

Happy Birthday Emily!
I realize have James, Emily and the boys staying with us is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but I have throughly enjoyed every moment of it.
Emily is such a great person, wonderful wife and mother. Even with three small children she manages a super calm and still manages to be helpful to other people around her.
This past weekend we hosted an open house for Russell and Sarah Jane and we were very fortunate to have James and Emily on hand to help get things ready. Barbara said she didn't think that she could have got it all done without Emily's help.
